Privacy policy

Jerry Stickhandling and Shooting LLC, doing business as Pro Habits Hockey ("Pro Habits Hockey," "we," "us," or "our"), operates prohabitshockey.co (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the Site, buy from us, or contact us; how we use it; who we share it with; and the choices and rights you have.

By using the Site, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. Where the law requires your consent (for example, for advertising and analytics cookies), we ask for it through the cookie banner on the Site, and you can change your choice at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Order information: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, and payment details. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
  • Marketing sign-ups: email address and/or mobile number when you subscribe to emails or texts.
  • Stick fitting appointments: your name, contact details, the time you choose, and any notes you provide when you book a fitting.
  • Customer support: anything you send us by email, form, or phone.
  • Reviews and content: reviews, photos, or videos you submit.
  • Affiliate and wholesale inquiries: the information you submit when you apply to our affiliate program or contact us about wholesale.

Information collected automatically when you use the Site

  • Device and connection data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Browsing data: pages and products you view, the URL of each page, the page that referred you to the Site, search terms, time on page, clicks, and items added to your cart.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: cookies, pixels, tags, and session identifiers set by us and by the partners listed in Section 3. See Section 5.

Information from other sources: advertising and analytics partners may tell us that you interacted with one of our ads, and our shipping carrier sends us delivery information about your order.

2. How we use your information

  • Process, ship, and support your orders, including returns and warranty claims
  • Deliver digital products, such as our eBook
  • Schedule and run stick fitting appointments
  • Run, secure, and improve the Site, and detect and prevent fraud
  • Send order and shipping updates
  • Send marketing emails and texts if you have opted in
  • Run our affiliate program and track affiliate referrals
  • Measure how the Site and our marketing perform
  • Show you advertising for our products on other websites and apps, and measure the results (if you have allowed advertising cookies, or as otherwise permitted by law)
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Who we share your information with

Service providers that run parts of our business for us under contract:

  • Store platform and payments: Shopify (including Shop Pay). Shopify may also use customer data together with other Shopify data to improve its products, ad targeting, and personalization, as described in Shopify's terms and privacy policy.
  • Fulfillment and shipping: UPS and our other shipping carriers, and Printful, which fulfills some of our apparel
  • Email and SMS: Klaviyo
  • Reviews and on-site features: Loox (product reviews), Candy Rack (product add-on offers), Essential Cart Drawer (cart display), Shopify Digital Products (eBook delivery), Easy Appointment Booking (stick fitting scheduling), and GoAffPro (affiliate program tracking)
  • Embedded content: YouTube and X (formerly Twitter), when a page or blog post includes an embedded video or post

Advertising and analytics partners. When you visit the Site, and only after you accept advertising or analytics cookies in our cookie banner where we ask for consent, the following partners receive information from your browser through pixels, tags, and cookies: your IP address, the URL of each page you visit, the referring page, browser and device identifiers, cookie and session identifiers, and the actions you take (such as viewing a product, adding to cart, or purchasing).

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for advertising and measurement
  • Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Merchant Center) for advertising and analytics
  • TikTok for advertising and measurement

These partners use this information to show our ads, measure their performance, and in some cases to improve their own advertising services. Their use is governed by their own privacy policies.

Other disclosures. We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, sharing information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some US state privacy laws. You can opt out as described in Section 6.

4. Server-side measurement

When you place an order, purchase information (such as order value and products purchased) and a hashed version of your email address and phone number may be sent from our store platform's servers to Meta and TikTok so we can measure whether our ads led to sales. A hashed value is a one-way coded version of the data that does not reveal the original email or phone number. Our consent tools are set up to apply your cookie choices to this sharing as well. You can opt out as described in Section 6.

5. Cookies and your choices

  • Necessary cookies keep the Site working (for example, your cart and checkout). They are always on.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand how the Site is used.
  • Advertising cookies let our partners show and measure our ads.

In places where the law requires your consent, our cookie banner asks for your choice and analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you accept. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie preferences link on the Site, if shown, or on our Your privacy choices page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work properly.

Global Privacy Control. Where our tools support it, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser.

Do Not Track. Because there is no common standard for "Do Not Track" signals, we rely on GPC and our cookie banner instead.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Texas, Virginia, and other US states, and the EU/UK), you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it
  • Get a copy of your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of targeted advertising. Use our Your privacy choices page, change your settings in the cookie banner, or turn on GPC.
  • Opt out of marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link) and texts (reply STOP)
  • Appeal a decision we make about your request

To make a request, email info@prohabitshockey.co with the subject "Privacy Request," or write to us at the address below. We will need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that the agent is authorized. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California "Shine the Light." California residents may ask once a year for information about any disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Contact us at the email above.

EU and UK residents. We process your information to fulfill our contract with you, with your consent (for cookies and marketing), for our legitimate business interests (such as fraud prevention and improving the Site), and to meet legal obligations. Your information is processed in the United States. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Text messages

If you opt in to texts, we use your mobile number to send order updates and marketing messages through our SMS provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-messaging opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, including for tax, accounting, warranty, and legal requirements, and then delete or de-identify it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll provide additional notice on the Site.
